Hello to all the wee beasties that supported the Scurry Kickstarter earlier this year! I’m hoping you’ve enjoyed adventuring through Scotland’s undergrowth and a top its majestic mountains. I’m back with another campaign I think you’ll love, so I hope you’ll check it out!
Carved in Stone: A Pictish Setting Guide
In partnership with archaeologists at Glasgow University and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, I’m producing a system-agnostic TTRPG setting. You and you players will be able to explore Pictish Scotland like never before, with a brightly illustrated tome chock-full of contemporary research into the extraordinary native populace of Scotland.
We’re trying to raise £15,400 so that we can:
Create a setting guide and print run
Fairly pay all creators on the project
Platform queer, marginalised and disabled voices in contemporary history
Help dispel misconceptions about the Picts and our shared past through games
Distribute Carved in Stone for free under a Creative Commons license
Set up a Community Box of free physical books for libraries to claim
If any of this interest you, click on the gif at the top of this page, or here, to check out the Kickstarter! We’re already almost to £10k after the first few days, and we have some devillishly exciting stretch goals (adventures! more merch!) prepped.
I promise, you won’t regret it :D

A brand new solo-journaling game set in the Bristley Woods
Create your own Beast, and choose a Travel Style to suit your Journeys
Diagnose Ailments, go Foraging for real Scottish Reagents, and create potent Remedies
Barter for new Tools and Wagon upgrades in distinct Settlements, including 6 unique Cities
Travel the Paths and Waterways of the Bristley Woods, facing down Beasts and Behemoths alike
Build your Guild's Reputation, with benefits shared across all characters you'll create!
Grab your bags and fill your boots, it's time to go on an adventure!
This game merges two passion projects; the whimsical Apothecaria and the reflective Beast Fables. Our goal when writing this game is to inspire complex stories, with all the highs and lows of a cross country road trip. The aim of Apawthecaria is not to ‘win’, but to uncover stories that speak to you.

Thank you everyone for coming on this scurry with me <3
I'm just about to head over to Will's place to pack up the special Will-o-Wick candles and get them in the mail out to all of you wonderful backers. These last 60 (or so) packages mark the end of the pledges and pre-orders from the campaign. Fulfilment is finished!!
I'm overwhelmed by how beautiful this book, game and story-world is. The Bristley Woods are very special to me, and I hope you find as much joy and inspiration in exploring as I have had in writing.
Supporting Scurry Post Campaign
So much of my energy, time and love has gone into Scurry, and it'd mean the world to me if you helped it flourish!
You Can Review the book on my website! It only takes five minutes, but it persuades folks to give a new indie game a try, and it shows up in my google SEO too!
ReviewPacks have already been sent out to a few magazines, but if you'd like to make a video, Twitter thread, or anything else talking about it, email me and I'll do what I can to support you!
Sharing On Social Media is so powerful. If you tag me on Instagram or Twitter (@DungeonsOnADime) I promise to leave a wonderful beast-themed reply <3
Special Thanks
My mum (who wrote her name as 'your MOTHER' on her survey) has helped support me in my long, complicated journey as an artist.
It's not easy raising queer and autistic kids in a world that actively tries to belittle, push to the side and discriminate against them. I love my mum, and all her achievements (she makes plus size lingerie! and websites! and is a business consultant! and has a very loud yet small dog!).
I also want to say thanks to Atlanta, Fraser and Ver, the three illustrators for this project who embarked on a journey into the world of beasts with no other motive than friendship. Thanks for coming along, and here's to many more scurries in the future!
Oh, Crap- I didn't fill in my survey :(
There are about 20 of you who haven't filled in your surveys, 10 of whom have physical rewards I need to send in the mail.
Don't worry! Life gets busy, emails fall of your front pages- I get how it is. If you haven't filled in your survey, I'll still fulfil your order; it may just take a bit longer.
If you just have digital rewards, then fill in the survey and they should shoot straight into your inbox!
If you're in the European Union, be aware that any packages sent to you will now also come with an import VAT fee that you will have to pay on your end. I have no control over that.
That's it from me. I'll post a few more updates here in the coming months; exciting episodes of Beast Fables, new projects I'm working on, and anything else that's relevant to Dungeons on a Dime.
Keep on Scurrying!
Brian

Just a mini-update that I've started shipping physical rewards! All European backers who have completed their addresses have had their pledge put in the mail last Saturday, and I've started packing up orders for the UK, and the rest of the world. This week I'll be handing the US and Canadian details over to Floating Pool Chair to help with fulfilment.
DigitalRewards will also go out this week! I'm almost finished with the plain text version, which will complete the digital package. it's been hectic, so apologies for the slight delay!
